Estrace 2 mg – is a medicine on the basis of hormone estrogen, intended to eliminate the symptoms of menopause (climacteric syndrome), as well as for the treatment and prevention of postmenopausal osteoporosis.
After menopause, estrogen release is greatly reduced in the female body. In most women, this process is accompanied by thermoregulatory and vasomotor instability (hot flashes and increased sweating), sleep disorders, developing urogenital atrophy and osteoporosis.
Before starting a treatment with Estrace 2mg, it is necessary to undergo a thorough gynecological examination, which should be periodically repeated throughout the treatment with this drug. Dosage and mode of administration of the drug is determined and adjusted by the doctor depending on symptoms. It is recommended to start the treatment with a low dose of Estrace, increasing it as needed. Recommended daily dose is 2mg, taken by mouth without chewing with a little water. Duration of treatment with Estrace 2 mg is up to 6 months, it is carried out by separate courses (duration is 21 days) with a week break between them.
Estrace 2mg is recommended to take once a day at one and the same time with or without food. If you forget to take the tablet of Estrace 2mg and little time remains until the next use, it is better to skip this dose to avoid overdose.
Signs of Estrace overdose are the following: nausea, vomiting, vaginal bleeding. In the case of slight overdose, seek medical assistance.
Contraindications to Estrace 2mg use are: pregnancy, breastfeeding, acute thrombophlebitis, thromboembolism, ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke, severe liver diseases, kidney failure, estrogen-dependent malignancies, hypersensitivity to the drug.
Estrace 2mg is not a contraceptive and it is not able to prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.
