Men also use Estrace tablets to treat prostate cancer, hyperandrogenic alopecia, urogenital disorders.

Use of Estrace tablets are contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding, hypersensitivity to the drug, ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke, severe liver and kidney diseases, especially during the aggravation.

Estrace tablets can cause anorexia, flatulence, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, diarrhea, headache, intolerance to contact lenses, as well as:

• in women: amenorrhea, pain and increase of breast, intermenstrual “spotting” vaginal discharges, bleeding, “breakthrough”, increased libido, menorrhagia, mammary glands tumor.

Generic Estrace is supplied in the form of coated tablets as well as transdermal and vaginal cream.

Any dosage form of Generic Estrace should be prescribed by the doctor after thorough medical examination of a patient. It is better to start treatment with a minimum dose of Generic Estrace with subsequent increasing as needed.

Generic Estrace should be taken every day during the whole treatment course, not depending on food intake. It is desirable to take Generic Estrace tablets at one and the same time to achieve the maximum effect. Daily dose of Generic Estrace (in tablets) is taken at once with some water. If you skip the pill and there is little time for your next dose, it is better to miss this dose in order not to cause the overdose.

Symptoms of Generic Estrace overdose are vaginal bleeding, nausea and vomiting. In the case of overdose, immediately stop taking the medication and undergo symptomatic therapy. Generic Estrace use should be also discontinued in a significant increase of blood pressure, icterus occurrence, the appearance of visual impairment and migraine pain.

Contraindications to Generic Estrace use are hypersensitivity to its components, pregnancy, breastfeeding, acute period of severe liver and kidney diseases, hemorrhagic/ ischemic stroke.

Estrace vaginal cream is intended for treatment of the symptoms of menopausal syndrome, such as dryness, burning and itching in the area of the vagina as well as urinary tract infections. Beside the local effect, directed on the regulation of secretion of the vagina glands and surrounding tissues, Estrace vaginal cream also possesses a systemic action on the whole body, affecting symptoms, such as hot flashes and excessive sweating.

Estrace vaginal cream is contraindicated in:

• hypersensitivity to the drug components;
• pregnancy;
• breastfeeding;
• severe liver diseases;
• kidney failure;
• benign and malignant tumors of the pituitary;
• hemorrhagic or ischemic stroke;
• thromboembolism or acute thrombophlebitis;
• uterine bleeding of unknown etiology.

Dosage and duration of Estrace vaginal cream use are determined by the doctor after thorough gynecological examination.

Mode of Estrace vaginal cream application:

• measure the prescribed dose of Estrace vaginal creamm using graduated applicator,
• take one of the positions (lying on your back with your knees bent, while sitting or standing) in which you will be able most comfortably to get to the vagina. Carefully insert Estrace vaginal cream deep into the vagina and press out the whole cream from the applicator,

Estradiol is active substance of Estrace, in application of the cream on the skin it immediately and almost completely gets into the systemic circulation, while a small its amount is retained in subcutaneous fat and then gradually released into the systemic circulation.

Advantage of Estrace cream over oral forms of the same drug is that it can provide a higher level of estradiol concentrations in the plasma due to the fact that during external use, active substance of the drug is not subject to the effect of “first pass”.

Estrace cream is prescribed for external use in continuous or cyclic mode in doses and for a period that should be individually established for each patient.

A thin layer of Estrace Cream is applied up to the total absorption on the skin of the abdomen, the forearm, shoulder and lower back. Area of application should be not less than the area of two palms otherwise, if the area is too small, the drug will be absorbed longer than 2-3 minutes.

Estrace cream should be applied on the clean skin once a day, in the morning or in the evening, avoiding its contact with the mucous membrane of the vagina and vulva, as well as the breast. The drug does not stain clothes.

Estrace Cream possesses side effects that as a rule, are mildly pronounced and observed only in the first months of the drug use, they are the following: dizziness, headache, mood changes, migraine, increase and sensitivity of the mammary glands, increased libido, menorrhagia, breast tumor, intermenstrual “spotting” discharges, hyperemia and irritation of the skin, peripheral edema, increase in blood pressure, intolerance to contact lenses, changes in body weight.

After menopause, estrogen release is greatly reduced in the female body. In most women, this process is accompanied by thermoregulatory and vasomotor instability (hot flashes and increased sweating), sleep disorders, developing urogenital atrophy and osteoporosis.

Signs of Estrace overdose are the following: nausea, vomiting, vaginal bleeding. In the case of slight overdose, seek medical assistance.

Contraindications to Estrace 2mg use are: pregnancy, breastfeeding, acute thrombophlebitis, thromboembolism, ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke, severe liver diseases, kidney failure, estrogen-dependent malignancies, hypersensitivity to the drug.

Estrace 2mg is not a contraceptive and it is not able to prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.
